I. Product Overview
-
The choke manifold is essential equipment for controlling well kicks and implementing oil/gas well pressure control technology. By using the degree of opening and closing of the choke valves while the blowout preventer (BOP) is closed, it controls the casing pressure, maintains a balanced pressure relationship within the well, or keeps the bottom-hole pressure slightly greater than the formation pressure, thereby preventing influx and a blowout.

Furthermore, during well shut-in operations, the choke valves can be used for pressure relief to achieve a soft shut-in. When the pressure inside the well is too high, it can be used for venting/flaring to protect the wellhead. The choke manifold can also be optionally equipped with a control panel for remote operation.

The choke manifolds produced by our factory comply with the requirements of API 16C and NACE MR0175 standards.

The choke manifold can be specially designed and manufactured according to user requirements.
II. Design Features

If a choke valve fails and requires maintenance, the upstream and downstream valves on that line can be closed, and the downstream valve of the other choke valve can be opened, putting it into service.

When venting/flaring is required, the vent valve can be opened rapidly while the input valve to the mud-gas separator is closed.

The choke manifold performs kill operations by restricting flow through the choke valves, replacing the contaminated drilling fluid in the well, and simultaneously controlling the wellhead casing pressure and standpipe pressure to restore the drilling fluid's pressure control over the wellbore and stop the influx.

The pressure-relief function of the choke valves allows the wellhead pressure to be lowered, achieving a “soft shut-in”.

A large volume of fluid (or gas) can be vented/bled through the straight-through vent valve passage to quickly lower the wellhead casing pressure and protect the wellhead BOP stack.
